The future of finance will be shaped by a generation that is increasingly digital and globally connected. This generation is also open to new ways of managing and moving money. To help prepare young people for that future, Cleva and Tether, the largest company in the digital asset industry, are launching the Cleva x Tether Campus Storm.
This is a university-focused education and empowerment program designed to build knowledge around digital finance, financial innovation, and emerging technologies.
The initiative will bring practical learning, conversations, and hands-on experiences to students across several universities in Nigeria. As a result, young people will have the opportunity to better understand the technologies shaping the future of finance, along with the opportunities they can unlock.
The First Stop: Ahmadu Bello University
The first stop was Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. More than 700 students joined for a day of learning, discussion, and innovation.
Students explored topics around digital finance, stablecoins, and the evolving landscape of global payments. The session also included a practical learning experience through a hackathon. During the hackathon, teams presented ideas and projects addressing real-world challenges, including innovative applications of financial technology and stablecoins.
The energy and quality of the students’ ideas reinforced something we strongly believe. The next generation does not just need access to new technology. They need the knowledge and confidence to understand it, build with it, and shape what comes next.
What’s Next for the Campus Storm
The Cleva x Tether Campus Storm will continue beyond ABU. Additional universities across Nigeria are set to participate in the months ahead.
Through these engagements, Cleva and Tether hope to create more spaces for students. In these spaces, students can learn, ask questions, and experiment with new ideas. They can also connect financial technology to the challenges and opportunities they see around them.
This is about more than introducing students to new financial technologies. It is about building the capacity of the next generation. This generation will participate in, contribute to, and ultimately shape the future of digital finance.
And this is just the beginning.
